Jeffrey “Jeff” G. Fisher, 63 of North Kingsville, passed away unexpectedly April 15, 2024, following a brief illness. He was born March 4, 1961, to Thomas and Gleneva (Hess) Fisher in Akron, Ohio.
Jeff began his career in law enforcement in 1984 with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, attaining the rank of Sergeant. In his time with the Patrol, he received numerous awards including Trooper of the Year and recognition for his heroic actions in saving the life of an employee on the Ohio Turnpike. He most recently served as the Chief of Security at Core Civic, formerly the Lake Erie Correctional Institution, where he had been employed for the past twenty-four years.
For Jeff, actions spoke louder than words. He has always been very involved with his community, most recently serving as a North Kingsville Councilman and the Board President for Community Counseling Center in Ashtabula. Jeff loved people and had a huge heart. He had a passion for sports cars, camping, cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. When he wasn’t at work, he could be found at the campground or cheering on his grandchildren at all their activities- from dance recitals to baseball, soccer, and football games.
Jeff is survived by his wife Michele (Reinart) whom he married August 8, 1980; son Jeffrey (Michelle) of Wayne Township, Ohio; his beloved grandchildren Luciano, Noah Robert, Noah Ray, Lila, Santino, Ethan, and Connor; sisters Barbara (Lynn) Fisher of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Patricia (James) Kirk of Murrysville, Pennsylvania; brother Tom (Laura Evans) Fisher of St. Louis, Missouri; and Chad Morris who is like a beloved son to Jeff and Michele. Also surviving him are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his many friends, colleagues, and co-workers. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Eric, who passed away in 2020.
