Norma M. Morris, 86, of Conneaut, OH, passed away Thursday evening May 16, 2013, at Lake Pointe Rehab and Nursing Center in Conneaut, OH.

Born February 18, 1927, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of George A. MacMillen and Norma Ruth (Ide) MacMillen. She graduated from Taylor Alderdice High School in Pittsburgh, PA, and received her bachelor’s degree from PCW (now Chatham University). She was employed by the West Hartford (CT) Public School System.

After retiring in 1979, Norma and her husband, George, built their retirement home next door to her sister, Joan M. Newcomb and her husband James C. Newcomb, Jr. on Daniels Ave. in Conneaut, OH. The two families enjoyed raising beef cattle and growing and canning fruits and vegetables. Norma also loved to grow cutting flowers. Attractive flower arrangements often adorned her home. She was an active member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ where she served on numerous committees including the flower committee and soup and sandwich luncheons. Norma served as head of Friends of the Conneaut Public Library and was recognized for outstanding support and service as a volunteer. Her favorite activity was as a participating member of the Library’s book discussion group. She was an avid reader, enjoying over 70 books a year. Norma was also a member of the Conneaut Quilters Guild and the Arts Center Quilters.

Norma was a devoted wife of 65 years, marrying her high school sweetheart, George on June 19, 1948. In addition to reading and quilting, she enjoyed watching Public Television programs and movies, gardening, and cooking. She also had a great interest in British history.

Norma is survived by her husband George J. Morris of Conneaut, OH; and three sons, Richard C. (Margaret) Morris of Saratoga Springs, NY, Jeffrey D. (Susan) Morris of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Ronald E. (Susan) Morris of Saratoga Springs, NY; six grandchildren, Michael, Margaret, Peter, David, Christopher, and Kimberly; and one great-granddaughter, Greta; nieces and nephews, Robert, Paul and Scott Morris, James, Janet, and Judy Newcomb (Grotsky), and Duncan, David and Mary Cameron (Danka).

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joan M. Newcomb on March 19, 2010; her sister-in-law Elsa Cameron on March 10, 2013; and her aunt Olive MacMillen.

Funeral services will be at Noon on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, with Pastor Joyce Shellhammer of First Congregational UCC officiating. Burial will be in East Conneaut Cemetery, Conneaut, OH.

Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at Noon.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to the First Congregational UCC, 211 Buffalo St., Conneaut, OH. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Former Conneaut resident, Eileen J. Phillips, 78, died Wednesday morning, May 15, 2013, in Columbus, OH. She was born July 6, 1934, in Conneaut, and was the daughter of Alex and Martha (Paananen) Kantola.

A 1952 graduate of Rowe High School, she married Albert John Phillips on December 10, 1954. She was a homemaker and a member of the Conneaut Area Historical Society. She enjoyed taking nightly drives to look at the lake, reading traveling, and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters Karen (Richard) Evans of Moreno Valley, CA, and Susan (Paul) Barnes of Williamsport, OH; her son Steven Phillips (Shael Lambert) of Girard, OH; three brothers, John (Jean) Kantola of Kansas City, MO, Kenneth (Diane) Kantola of Riverside, CA, and Robert (Glenda) Kantola of Conneaut; grandchildren Adam Barnes, Wesley and wife Katie (Chrismer) Barnes, Rachel (Zac) Holmes, Perry Barnes, Jonathan Evans, Harrison Evans, and Stanley Phillips; great grandchildren, Makayla Barnes, Henry Barnes, Eliza Barnes, and Paul Barnes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years and three days, Albert John Phillips; a brother Thomas Kantola; and a sister Doris Tuttle.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 15, 2013, in East Conneaut Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Picnic will take place later that day from 12:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the Lower Pavilion at Conneaut Township Park.

LaRena “Jean” Hathy, 84, of Conneaut, OH, died Saturday evening, May 11, 2013, at Lake Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born July 17, 1928, in Conneaut and was the daughter of Harold L. and LaRena (Barnes) Taylor.

Jean was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church where she was active in the Friendship Circle. She was primarily a homemaker and had waitressed at one time. She enjoyed crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, baking, cooking, bowling. She especially enjoyed holidays with her family and attending family functions, especially those of her grandchildren.

Survivors of her five generations include her daughter Bonnie Snyder of Conneaut; two sons Bob (Florence) Hathy and Steve (Liz) Hathy all of Conneaut; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Georgie (Larry) Dudley, and Jackie Emmett all of Florida; a sister-in-law Louise Hathy of Florida; two brothers-in-law Howard “Satch” (Marilyn) Hathy and Louie Hathy all of Conneaut; as well as nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Robert A. Hathy in 1989.

Funeral services will be at Noon on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, with Rev. Robert Leonard of the Hungarian Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Conneaut.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M., until the time of the service at Noon.

Betty L. Vibbard, 82, of Sterling Heights, MI, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born January 18, 1931 in Hazel Park, MI, and was the daughter of Harry and Ida (Huliet) Warren.

Betty was a member of the Stone Haven Free Methodist Church and was a member of the Patches Square Dance Club.

She was the beloved wife of William E. Vibbard of Sterling Heights, MI; loving mother of Darrell Gene Vibbard of Texas, and Allen K. Vibbard of Detroit, MI; and grandmother of Matthew William, Katherine Alleen, and Rachel Elizabeth, all of Detroit.

Betty joins her parents; and her sister Pearl.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 10, 2013, at Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut, with Rev. April Osborne, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Stone Haven Free Methodist Church.

James J. Sutley, Sr., 58, of Niceville, FL, passed away from illness on May 3, 2013. He was born February 4, 1955.

Jim was a lifelong resident of Conneaut, OH, and recently moved to Niceville, FL. He was a past president of the 408 Eagles lodge in Conneaut, and a past president of the Fourth of July Committee. He worked in salvage yards most of his life.

He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and jamming his guitar with good friends.

Survivors include his wife Patricia (Wick) Sutley, of 40 years; his daughter Melissa L. Sutley, 37, of Conneaut; his son James J. Sutley, 33, of Conneaut; grandsons Brandon Sutley, Bradly Crandall, Nicklas Sutley, Rodney Baldwin, Christian Hand, Aron Sutley; granddaughter Cortney Sutley; great grandson Beau J. Miller; his brother Michael Beatman; his sister Karen; his step-mother Jeanette Beatman, four half-brothers; four half-sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Herb and Hazel Sutley, and Charles Beatman and Donna Molina; his son Jeffery Sutley; and brothers Charles Beatman, Jr., and Noble Beatman.

Memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Kelly J. Giganti, nee: Lenzo, 52, of Conneaut, passed away Thursday morning, May 2, 2013. She was born September 10, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio, and was the daughter of Carmen and Betty Joyce (Sexton) Lenzo.

She was a graduate of Solon High School in Solon, Ohio and had moved to Conneaut, working with her loving friends at the Biscotti Family Winery. She enjoyed golf, writing poems, helping others, and being a mom.

Survivors include her husband, Frank C. Giganti of Conneaut; her mother Betty Joyce Lenzo of Hudson, OH; her daughter Katie Giganti of Mayfield Heights, OH; her son Charles “Chaz” Giganti of Conneaut; her sister Gina Marie (Ron) Call of Hudson, OH; her brothers Tim (Donna) Lenzo of Maple Heights and Joseph (Barb) Lenzo of Solon, OH; and her loving friends Nancy Biscotti, Jill Carberry, and Jenny Turley.

She was preceded in death by her father Carmen Lenzo; and her son Joseph Giganti.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.

Susan R. Heim, 53, of Conneaut, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She was born July 2, 1959 in Conneaut, Ohio and was the daughter of the late William Blevins and Marie (Roland) and Bill Riley.

A graduate of Conneaut High School, Susan worked for 32 years as a machine operator for C.W. Ohio. She enjoyed Farmville on Facebook and keeping up with friends and family on there. She loved her cats and any animal that would visit their yard. But most of all, she had a gentle heart and loved being with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, James J. Heim, of Conneaut, whom she married March 1, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV; her parents Bill and Marie Riley of Conneaut; and her sister Diane Madonna and her husband Tony Champaign of Duluth, GA.

She was preceded in death by her father William Blevins.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty ST., Conneaut, with Pastor Jan Walsh of New Leaf United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut.

Eloise “Babe” A. Jones, 83, of Conneaut, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013 at the Ardis Rhinehart Kremer Home in Conneaut. She was born July 1, 1929 in Erie, PA, and was the daughter of Clarence and Eloise (Cox) Loomis.

She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in Erie in 1947 and was a “Domestic Engineer” all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Conneaut, a 40 year member of the Moose Lodge, in which she held all chairs with the Women of the Moose, and also an original member for over 60 years of the “Chat and Chew Club.”

“Babe” and her husband, whom she married July 30, 1948 in Ripley, NY, enjoyed wintering in Port Richey, FL, where they served 16 years on their community church committee. She loved to go to casinos, on bus trips, and loved the Cleveland Indians.

Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family, family reunions, and family lunches, especially with the “Cousin Lunch Bunch” which included her cousins Bill Cox and his fiancée Beverly Saunders, Judy and George Dierich, Jean Spangler, and Bob and Paulette Cox.

Survivors include her son Robert J. (Terri) Jones of Conneaut; her daughter-in-law Karen Jones of Fort Mill, S.C.; her sister Anita Krsak of Mentor, her brothers Herbert (Betty) Loomis of Pittsburgh, PA, Charles (Joanne) Beaver of Conneaut, and Richard (Mary) Beaver of Monroe Township; her grandchildren Abbie, Kelly, and Mitchell; her great grandson Alex Colby; dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins; her cousin and caregiver Bill Cox; and her special friend Kim Watson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert W. Jones in 2006, to whom she was married for 58 years; her son Dennis R. Jones in 2005; her sisters Ann Mozart, Mary Jo Taylor, and Rosemarie Cosner; and her brother James Beaver.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Interim pastor Brian Ewig of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.

Thomas attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ, and was a member and past president in 1994 of the Conneaut Eagles Club.

Thomas is survived by his sister Wilma Jean M. (Dean) Smock of Pennsylvania, and nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Orville B. Mix, Jr., and a sister Millie Gail M. Piper.

Ray O. Hammond, 70, of Conneaut, died early Sunday morning, April 21, 2013, at University Hospital in Cleveland following a year-long illness. He was born October 17, 1942, in Lake City, PA, and was the son of Frank L. and Helen (Graves) Hammond.

An area resident for most of his life, Ray was employed at Boyd E. Hart Construction, Heist Corp, and retired from the maintenance department at General Aluminum. He was raised in the Federated Church of East Springfield, PA, and was a member of Conneaut Eagles Aerie #408. He enjoyed camping at Evergreen Lake Park in Conneaut where he operated Hammond’s Golf Cart Repair and loved “driving Miss Carolyn” around in his golf cart. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed bowling with the Conneaut Collision Team, and meeting friends for coffee at McDonald’s.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn (Bailey) Hammond whom he married October 31, 1964; a daughter Dana Rae (Milford Artman) of Conneaut; his son Ray E. Hammond (Sally Crawford) of Conneaut; five grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Jenna, Aaron, and Josh; two great grandchildren Chloe and Aiden; and nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl “Lee” Hammond and Leslie Hammond; and two sisters Audrey Clauson and Eva Lou Johnston.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, with Pastor Franklin J. Gore of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will be held at the Eagles Lodge, 171 Main St., Conneaut, OH following the service.

William “Les” Phelps, 73, of Ashtabula, OH, formerly of Conneaut, OH, died Thursday morning, April 18, 2013, at Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1939, in Ashtabula, OH, and was the son of Lyle and Betty (Bear) Phelps.

A lifelong area resident, Les was an Ashtabula High School graduate and was employed in health care as a C.N.A. He worked at the former Inn-Conneaut Health Center for 16 years.

Les enjoyed fishing, model airplanes, and cars.

Survivors include two sons, S/Sgt. Gregory (Stacy) Phelps of San Antonio, TX, and Edward (Linda) Phelps of Rock Hill, SC; two daughters April Forbes of Ashtabula, OH, and Leslie (Rab) Dalrymple of Conneaut, OH; a brother Chuck (Wanda) Phelps of Mansfield, OH; and numerous grandchildren and more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Janet (Hawes) Phelps in 2000; a daughter Kristy Phelps; and two sisters, Barbara Clark and Sandy Brady.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut, OH, with Rev. David Hines of Kingsville First Baptist Church officiating.

Alice was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as organist for a number of years. She was also a member of Eastern Star Orion Chapter #12. She enjoyed collecting Hummel and Mickey Mouse figurines.

Survivors include her husband Samuel E. Batdorf of Conneaut; her daughter Holly Batdorf of Conneaut; her son Donald Batdorf of Winston-Salem, NC; her aunt Beverly Owen of Conneaut; and several cousins, James Owen, Alice Zeigler, Charlene Betchold, Warren Young, Heather Kokenge, Alice Claugh, Dorothy Myers, Sally Hollingshead, and Roberta Owen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Donald Strausser in WWII; her sister Betty Strausser in 2011; and aunts and uncles, Charles and Alma Owen, Maud and George Young, Honey and Bill Haas, and Warren Owen.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, with Brian Ewig, Interim Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, with Eastern Star Orion Chapter #12 conducting services at 7:45. An additional time of visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00 until the time of the service at 11:00.

Ryan loved watching TV, especially game shows: The Price Is Right, Deal Or No Deal, and Wheel of Fortune. In his early years he loved watching Barney, and also baseball.

Survivors include his parents of Conneaut; his maternal grandparents, Janet and Richard Speer of Conneaut, paternal grandparents Nettie and Bill Powell of Conneaut; aunts and uncles, Jodi and Mike Water of Jefferson, OH, Rick Speer, Mark Speer both of Conneaut, Ken and Ruth Powell of Kingsville, OH, Donna Powell of Bay Village, OH, and Brian and Michele Powell of North Carolina; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by an uncle Roger Powell, and maternal and paternal great grandparents.

Frank H. Ebersberger, Jr., 78, of Conneaut, OH, passed away March 7, 2013, at University Hospital in Cleveland, OH. He was born December 4, 1934, in Pittsburgh, PA, and was the son of Frank H., Sr. and Margaret (Koffler) Ebersberger.

Frank served in the U.S. Army, then went to work in the airline industry for both TWA and U.S. Airways combined for more than 40 years of service.

He was a member of the Cleveland Soaring Society, American Legion, the Moose Club, Lake Erie Boat Club, Connie’s Ballroom Dance and the Conneaut RC Airplane Club. He also was a Certified Ski Instructor at Seven Springs Mountain Resort as well as a participant in Amateur Competitive Roller Skating. Frank also enjoyed woodcarving, boating, and fishing.

Survivors include his daughter Lori (Ebersberger) Bannister of Coshocton, OH, and two grandchildren Samantha Jo (Bannister) Lindsey and Dexter Bannister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years Jacqueline M. Ebersberger in 2006, and his brother Melvin Ebersberger.

Louise Sisson Whitney, born in Franklin Center, PA, August 31, 1915, died February 7, 2013, at the age of 97 ½, at Lake Pointe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Conneaut, OH. She was the seventh of nine children born to the late Walter Delton (Dell) and Gertrude Anderson Sisson, and was the last surviving sibling.

Upon graduating from Fairview High School, she married Joseph Whitney in 1936. After the birth of her first son, Alan, the family moved to Conneaut, Ohio, where she lived the rest of her life.

In earlier years, Louise was an active member of the Conneaut First Baptist Church, serving on several boards, committees, and attending the adult Sunday School and a women’s circle for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the American Colonists.

Her interest included her church, sewing, collecting antiques with her older sister, Mary, being with family, and hosting large family dinners, traveling, and family history.

She is survived by her son, Alan of Conneaut; four grandchildren: Elise (Allen) Bishop, Joe Whitney, Craig (Lisa) Whitney, and LeTishia (Maria) Whitney; three great-grandchildren, Cooper and Addie Bishop and Craig Whitney; and a great-great granddaughter, Dahlia Whitney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph Whitney in 1992; her son Craig L. Whitney in 2011; six sisters, Grace Scott, Ethel Voss, Hazel Payne, Mary Miller, Helen Stoner, and Alice Kuzma; and two brothers Ross and Earl Sisson.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH.

Janet M. Blose, 78, of Erie, PA, formerly of Conneaut, OH, passed away Wednesday morning, April 10, 2013, at her home following a one-year illness. She was born March 19, 1935, in Erie and was the daughter of Harold W. and Dorothy (Forgays) Penoyer.

Janet had worked at Marx Toys in Erie, Emco-Wheaton in Conneaut, and Bailey Manufacturing in Conneaut, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Conneaut Church of God where she was a member of the choir and the Young at Heart group. She enjoyed reading, singing along with her favorite songs, and especially loved being with her family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter Ann (Don) Brandt of Columbus, OH; a son, Mike (Darla) Blose of Tennessee; daughter-in-law Colleen Blose of Louisville, KY; two sisters, June (Martin) McKim of Adena, OH, and Lois Garbarino of Erie, PA; two brothers, Terry (Carol) Penoyer of Soap Lake, WA, and Gary (Libby) Penoyer of Erie, PA; four sisters-in-law, Janet Penoyer of GA, Helen Snyder of Erie, PA, Agnes Blumrick of NY, and Catherine Blose of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren Michael Blose, Michael Brandt, and Melissa Brandt; and a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Burt V. Blose whom she married June 27, 1970; a son Larry Blose; and brother Ronald Penoyer.

Mary T. Batta, 92, of Conneaut, OH, died Monday evening, April 8, 2013, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. She was born August 24, 1920, in Lowellville, OH, and was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Garchar) Novak.

She was employed as a cook for 25 years at the former Pape’s Restaurant in Conneaut. She was a member of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Parish, and a former member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and Conneaut Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the Lake Erie Boat Club when her husband was active there. Mary was an excellent bowler and bowled in the Senior Ladies Bowling League for many years. She also loved to play bingo with the Seniors at the Conneaut Human Resources Center.

Survivors include her son Thomas G. (Elizabeth) Batta of Bloomington, MN; her grandson Jeffrey M. (Jane) Batta and their children Zachary, Grace, Chloe, and Max; grandson Thomas J. (Amy) Batta and their children Samuel and Ryanne; as well as several nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Blaine J. “Joe” Batta in 1992; a son David in 1974; five sisters: Sister Mary Gemma of Vincentian Sisters of Charity, Betty Martinec, Katherine Gavalier, Yolanda Kushnir, and Dorothy Stanko; and two brothers, John and Steve Novak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 13, 2013, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 480 State St., Conneaut, OH, with Rev. Philip Miller officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.

William O. Parkomaki, 69, of Conneaut, OH, died at his home of complications on Monday morning, April 8, 2013. He was born June 24, 1943, in Conneaut to Donald W. and Ina A. (Argelander) Parkomaki.

Bill graduated from Rowe High School in 1961 where he earned two scholastic letters and five varsity letters, two in football and three in baseball. A month after graduation, he was hired by Reliance Electric as a mechanical draftsman in the Navy Sales Order Group. His seven years there enabled him to save enough money to finance his college education at Kent State University.

After a year and a half of architecture at KSU, he changed programs and earned a Bachelor of Arts with an English major and Psychology minor, graduating in 1967.

Four days after receiving his B.A., he went to Conneaut Area Schools, where his teaching career spanned five decades, 1967 – 2004.

He is survived by his son William M. (Shara) Parkomaki and their children Ian and Jenna Parkomaki; a daughter Kiersten (Donald) Alexander and their children Lauren, Garrett, and Griffin Alexander; an older sister Susan (George) Schroeder of Hiram, OH; and a younger brother, Donald J. “Jack” Parkomaki of Conneaut.

There will be no calling hours or memorial service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens beside his parents.

Edward S. Peterson, 87, of Monroe Township, OH, died unexpectedly Monday evening, April 1, 2013, at UH Conneaut Medical Center of an apparent coronary. He was born March 1, 1926, in Union City, PA, and was the son of Cyrus Samuel and Nettie (Ploss) Peterson.

A 1944 graduate of Springfield, PA, High School, Ed served in the U.S. Navy in the Far East during World War II. He was a foreman at The Pittsburgh & Conneaut Dock Company for 34 years.

A lifelong area resident, Ed was a life member of the V.F.W. and enjoyed hunting and bowling. In his younger years, he played baseball and had actually gotten a hit off Bob Feller. He also played basketball for Springfield in the Conneaut City League.

He raised turkeys, chickens, geese, hogs, and beef cattle on his farm, and enjoyed going to the Meadville Sale Barn.

Survivors include his wife Jeanne S. (Wheeler) whom he married August 26, 1947; his daughter Robin (Barry) Cowher of East Springfield, PA; two sons, Frank K. Peterson, Sr. of Springboro, PA, and Fred (Nancy) Peterson of Conneaut, OH; an adopted son Darrell Peterson; his brother Harold “Pete” Peterson of Perry, OH; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Starr Krueger; his grandchildren Eddie Krueger and Tammy Henderson; his sister Hattie; two brothers, Alden and Samuel; and his foster son Dennis Brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, with Rev. Les Bolen of Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in East Conneaut Cemetery where the American Legion Cowle Post #151 will provide military honors.

Survivors include her brother Edward Cunningham of Conneaut; a nephew Tim (Denise) Cunningham of Conneaut and other nieces and nephews, great nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Conneaut Fire Department Lt. Thomas F. Beisty; a brother John Cunningham; and her step-mother Dorothy Cunningham.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 4, 2013, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 480 State St., Conneaut, OH, with Rev. Philip Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut, OH.

Richard Duane Ogren, 85, of Conneaut, OH, passed away early Sunday morning, March 31, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 1, 1927, in Conneaut, and was the son of George A. and Ella (Mohoney) Ogren.

Richard served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. He was employed at Elkem Metals, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church, and many Masonic organizations including Evergreen Lodge #222 F &AM, PHP Royal Arch Masons Chapter #76 of Conneaut, Past Illustrious Master, Council #40, Columbian Commandery #52 Past Commander, former member Cache Commandery #27, A.A.S.R. Valley Cleveland 32nd degree, past patron Rose Chapter #22, and member of Orion Chapter #12, Cornerstone Club District 1. He was also a member of VFW Post #2836 and American Legion Cowle Post #151.

Richard enjoyed watching baseball, football (especially Notre Dame), and being with family (especially his grandchildren), and friends.

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth “Liz” A. (Goodenow) Ogren whom he married December 24, 1966; three sons, Patrick (Tina Curtis) Ogren, Lawrence (Sandra) Ogren, and Scott Ogren all of Conneaut, three daughters, Marie (Terry) Johnson of Wichita, KS, Dawn (Mike) Haskell of Lake City, PA, and Nadine Ogren of Mineral Ridge, OH; 12 grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Lawrence, and Floyd Ogren; and sisters, Ethel Jennings, Betty Hefner, and two in infancy.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St, Conneaut, OH, with Pastor Jan Walsh of New Leaf United Methodist Church officiating. A Conneaut High School graduate, Pat was employed at Webb Manufacturing/ C.W. for more than 30 years. She was a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church, Conneaut Moose Club, Conneaut Eagles Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, bowling, crocheting, playing bingo, and going to casinos.

Survivors include her husband David G. Clemens, Sr. of Conneaut; her mother Nancy Betts of Conneaut; two daughters Anne (Ricky) Cunningham of Conneaut, and Pamela (Dan) Partridge of Ashtabula Township, OH; her son David G. Clemens, Jr. of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, James and Erik Cunningham, Katharine Cox, Daniel Partridge, Jr., and Cali Partridge; seven sisters, Linda (Gary) Finlaw of Conneaut, Cindy (Robert) Burcham of Conneaut, Chris Thorpe of Conneaut, Karen Seavey of Conneaut, Kimberly Lance of Ashtabula, OH, Georgia (Fred) Gessler of West Virginia, and Amy (Dan) Pogacsnik of Wakeman, OH; four brothers, Paul (Marsha) Betts, Jr. of Texas, Clayton Betts of Georgia, Stephen (Sharon) Betts of Painesville, OH, and Mark (Jennifer) Betts of Conneaut; and niece, nephews, and more distant relatives.
