Anne L. Gleason

December 27, 1915 ~ March 7, 2017 (age 101) 101 Years Old


Anne L. Gleason, 101, of Conneaut, OH, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at The Villa At The Lake.  She was born December 27, 1915, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, to Maksym and Anna (Beneshewsky) Lasenko.

 

            Anne was a 1933 graduate of Bridgeton High School and a 1937 graduate of Ryder College with a business major.  An area resident since 1945, Anne managed a real estate rental business.

 

            She was a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church and was active in the Gray Ladies of Brown Memorial Hospital.  She was instrumental in creating the yearly Christmas candy project in the schools.   Anne enjoyed acting in the Little Theater at Kilpi Hall, and served as a stand-in for Bette Davis in the movie “Harvest Home”.  She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and oil painting.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

 

            Survivors include her daughter Gloria Gleason-Sabetta and husband Bob of Kingsville, OH; two sons, Richard M. and Robert D. Gleason both of Conneaut; her daughter-in-law Patsy Gleason of Conneaut; her sister Polly (Bill) Riggin of Millville, New Jersey; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Dominique and Michael Hoffman and their children Sasha, Sophia, and Kai; Lynelle and Steve Price and their children Emily and Macy; Missy and Bill Ouellette and their children Isabella and Harrison; Kristen and Jeff Block and their children Ari and Ezra; Rick Gleason and his children Max and Hope; and Kori and Nick Roberts and their children Sebastian, Zavier, and Annalia; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

 

            She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry C. Gleason; two sisters, Marie and Julia; and her brother Joe.

 

            A private service was held at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, with Pastor Jan Walsh of New Leaf United Methodist Church officiating.

 

            The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the exemplary care given to Anne by the staff at The Villa and also by the volunteers of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
