Betty J. Slocum, 82, of Conneaut, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 10, 2017 at Lake Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 11, 1935 in Hazard, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Edward and Listy (Lewis) Simms.

Betty worked as a nurse’s aide and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her sons Barry (Renee) Auxier of Conneaut, Kenneth Auxier, and Ernest (Chrissy) Auxier, both of Ashtabula; her brothers Edward, Charles, and Lonnie Simms all of Ashtabula; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

At her request, no services will be held.

Contributions may be made in Betty’s name to the Church of God, 5327 Center Rd., Conneaut, OH 44030. Envelopes are available at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
