Charles L. West, 89, of Conneaut, passed away Thursday morning, October 19, 2017 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born October 2, 1928 in Conneaut, and was the son of Howard and Marie (Mullins) West.

After graduating from Rowe High School, Charles attended a tech school and enlisted in the Ohio National Guard. He retired from Elgin Electronics in 1985, and had also worked at Webb’s, and Creative Mill Works.

Charles was a member of the Federated Church in East Springfield, PA. His family was #1 in his life, and spoke fondly of his early years of working on his uncle’s farm. He enjoyed woodworking, leather crafting, Ham Radio, and music.

Survivors include his son Charles “Chip” West of Conneaut; his daughters Barbara West of Dartmouth, England, and Rebecca Spence of Augusta, KS; his brother Richard West of Youngsville, PA; and his grandsons Jeffery and Scott Richards.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lois (Sutherland) West; two daughters Laurie and Bonnie; and his brother John West.

At Charles’s request, no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
