Cynthia Schatz, 67, of Conneaut, passed away Wednesday evening, April 18, 2018 in the Hospice Unit at ACMC. She was born December 11, 1950 in Conneaut, and was the daughter of Lloyd and Helen (Puffer) Hicks.
Cynthia was a 1969 graduate of Conneaut High School and worked as a caretaker for Maples in Conneaut, and also for Johnson Group Home when she lived in North Carolina.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in West Springfield, and enjoyed going door to door being a witness to many. She was very active and enjoyed gardening, was collector of many things, going to thrift stores, antiques, had a huge love for cats, and loved, loved, loved collecting beach glass and sea shells. But most of all, she loved being with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Eric Schatz, whom she married November 12, 1999; her sons Edward (Carrie) Rawlins of Perry, Michael Rawlins of Conneaut, and Jamie (Michelle) Rawlins of Conneaut; her step-sons Jason (Samantha) Schatz of Chagrin, and Michael (Julie) Schatz of Conneaut; her sisters Cheryl (Harold) Deemer of Warren, OH, Cecelia (Edgar) Erdman of Wellsburg, WV, and Connie Carpenter of Conneaut; her brothers Chris (Nadine Meade) Hicks of Conneaut, and Craig (Kelli) Hicks of Greensboro, NC; and her grandchildren Andrew, Erin, Ella, Emma Rawlins, Abigale Hampton and Keifer and Gunner Schatz. Also surviving her sons father Charles (Cathy) Rawlins and their daughter Crystal; her sister-in-law Susie (Tim) Starkey, Diane Schatz; and brother-in-law Gary (Mary Ellen) Schatz; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband Terry Finney; and two nephews Chris and Jon Hicks.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Mr. Ralph Anthony officiating.
Friends may call from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the funeral home.
