Elsie E. Kapen, 78, of Monroe Twp., passed away Monday June 5, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side.  She was born March 17, 1939 in Conneaut to Ralph & Elizabeth (Olah) Brewster.

Elsie enjoyed plastic canvas, designing crafts and gardening. She especially cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Kim Kapen of Conneaut, Mark (Brenda) Kapen of Erie, Pa, Fred (Regina) Kapen & Frank Kapen both of Conneaut; grandson Myles (Halley Roscinski) Kapen and great-granddaughter Gianna; grandson Tanner Kapen; granddaughter Sarah Pelton; her step-daughter, Kelly Tredway of Missouri; grandchildren Katie, Bill, Tony Dunson, Jeffrey, Nicolas, Kaley Tredway; great-granddaughter Karleigh; and her niece, Barbara Spuzzillo of New Hampshire.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; step-daughter, Kathryn Dunson; sister, Virginia Snyder and her parents.

Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM,  Friday June 9, 2017 at Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Township, with longtime friends, David & Sandy Anderson officiating.

Family suggest contributions be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004.
