Genevieve R. Witek-Rogel, 83, of Ashtabula, passed away March 14, 2018 at ACMC, following a brief illness. She was born August 31, 1934 in Douds-Leando, Iowa, and was the daughter of Earl and Gelenne Greenfield. Genevieve attended Douds High School in Iowa for two years and then moved to Ohio to live with her sister Rosemary. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1952 and then worked as a secretary at Diamond Products where she met her 1st husband Ben Witek. They resided in Dover, Ohio, and then moved to N. Kingsville where she lived for 50 years. For a brief time, she also worked for ACMC. Ben died in 1987, and she remarried in 1996 to Henry Rogel. They lived in Solon, Ohio and Florida part time. Henry (Hank) died in 2006 and she remained in Solon until 2017 when she moved back to N. Kingsville where she lived with her daughter Debbie. She was a lovely lady, well-liked by all who knew her. She was quiet but strong. Her first love was her family. She enjoyed family time at their cabin in Callander Canada, at the Condo on Singer Island, Florida, and just at home. She liked fishing in Canada, golfing, and spending time at the Rogel family farm in W. Farmington, Ohio. She loved all sports especially NASCAR. Survivors include her children Deborah Lee Witek of N. Kingsville, and Sandra Lee (Mark) McKinney of Ft. Lufton, CO, Douglas Lee (Mary) Witek of N. Kingsville, Robert (Kathy) Rogel of W. Farmington, and Linda (John) Evans of W. Farmington; grandchildren Danika (David) Johnson, Rachel McKinney, Kelly (Jeffrey) Mueller, Joseph (Karen) Rogel, and Aaron Ramey; great-grandchildren Ailynn, Izabella, David, Jr., Hadlee, Janessa, Charlie, Henry, and Justin; her sister Donna McClaren of Fairlawn; sisters in law: Dorothy Greenfield of Centerville, Ohio & Helen Rogel of Franklin, TN, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband Benedict Witek; her 2nd husband Henry Rogel; her brothers Robert, Donald, and John Greenfield; and her sister Alice R. Kacsala. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville. Friends may call from 2:00 until 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the funeral home, and also from 10:00 until the time of the service on Monday.
