Laura Jean Warren, 90, of Monroe Township passed away Tuesday evening, January 17, 2017 at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 29, 1926 in Conneaut, OH, to Virgil and Abbey Thornton.
Laura Jean's last job was Morris Flowers. Laura was small but mighty, and definitely the life of the party. She had a passion for line dancing and tap. She was a member of the Irish Colleens and was a Red Hatter (Ladies of the Lake.) For years, Laura Jean was the Easter Bunny for the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Virgil "Gus" Thornton; and her first husband Bernie Soltis of 36 years.
Survivors include her husband Harry Warren, whom she married November 23, 1986 in Ripley, NY; her children Terry Soltis (wife Diann, son Brian and wife Lori, and son Cody White), Sheri Walbridge (husband Ronni, children Sara Castro and husband Troy, Seth and wife Kelly), step-daughter Linda Magee (husband Greg, daughters Heather, Amy, and Ashley), and her sister Janet Manosh. She is also survived by her beloved cats Tom and Bitty.
At the request of Laura Jean, no services will be held. Private graveside service will be at a later date.
Laura's family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Western Reserve and to all her special nurses on "E" wing. Laura will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve or the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Envelopes will be available at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
