Bert J. Pedigo

Bert J. Pedigo, 77, of Monroe Township, passed away Monday evening, April 9, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. He was born December 21, 1940 in Pasadena, CA, and was the son of Ray and Alice (Johnstone) Pedigo.

After high school graduation, Bert joined the United States Navy, and received his honorary BA from Sierra Madre City College. He later worked in satellite communication for Hughes Network System.

Bert enjoyed writing, and was a published author. He enjoyed the time with his family going to Ocean City, and when he was younger, swing dancing with his sister. He loved the outdoors, mountains, and the ocean, and climbed half dome in Yosemite. Bert also enjoyed watching his granddaughters play soccer.

Survivors include his daughter Margaret “Maggie” (Frank) DeBonis of Monroe Township; his sons David (Amy) Pedigo of Noblesville, IN, and Brett (Maria) Pedigo of Sherman Oaks, CA; his brother Jess (Esther) Pedigo of Chippewa Falls, WI; his sister Mary Margaret “Maggie” Clements of Vista, CA; grandchildren Michael DeBonis, Cody DeBonis, Madison Pedigo, Mackenzie Pedigo, Emma Pedigo, and Charlie Pedigo; and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Patricia "Patt" Pedigo, and his sister Nan Carlton.

Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Pastor Jan Walsh of New Leaf United Methodist Church officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the United States Navy and the American Legion Cowle Post #151.
