Brenda J. (Anderson) Powell

Brenda J. Powell, 62, of Conneaut, passed away Monday morning, March 4, 2019, at UHHS Geauga Hospital. She was born November 30, 1956 in Conneaut, and was the daughter of Lester and Shirley (Slocum) Anderson.

Brenda received her degree in accounting and worked at 1st Merit Bank. She was a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church, and while her kids were young, she helped with their youth groups. She enjoyed having picnics, boating, scrapbooking, ceramics, canning, and being with her family.

Survivors include her husband Dennis Powell; her son Tim (Wendy) Powell of Conneaut; her daughters Jaime (Dave Clemens) Johnston of Greenville, SC, and Christy (Howard) Tuttle of Roaming Shores; her grandchildren Mackenzie (Dylan McCaleb) Powell, Tim Powell, Jr., Madalynn (Tyler Bottorff) Humphreys, Jason Humphreys, Jr., Cassie Humphreys, Heidi Tuttle, Tyler Tuttle, and Billy Tuttle; her great-grandchildren Paisley, Cody, Letty, and Faith; her sisters Frankie (LTC Thomas) Tadsen, Ret., of Kent, Karen (Barry) Holub of Kingsville, and Melinda (Dave) Onion of Conneaut; and her lifelong friends Karen Hayes-Bilhajama and Michelle Parknow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Lester “Butch” Anderson, Jr.; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St, Conneaut, with Pastor Jan Walsh of New Leaf United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in East Conneaut Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 PM, Friday, March 8, 2019 at the funeral home.
