Carl Allen Loomis

Carl A. Loomis, 85 of Conneaut passed away Saturday August 3, 2019 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home with many family members near his side. He was born March 30, 1934 the son of Kenneth and M. Louise (Woodworth) Loomis.  He had remained in Conneaut most of his life.  Carl had many titles during his lifetime beginning with son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and later, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great uncle and friend.

Carl married the love of his life Joyce (Pinney) on June 16, 1951.  He raised and supported his family by working many jobs throughout his lifetime and retired from Wayne Dalton in 1996.

He was a Christian man and belonged to Stateline Methodist Church.

Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, being outside, mowing, and shoveling the snow, walking his dog and having family picnics.  He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians.  He also enjoyed professional wrestling and the dirt track races at Raceway 7.

Carl could make people laugh or smile with his joking and happy demeanor.

He was a resident at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home for the last four years of his life.  He was enjoyed by the residents and staff.  The family would like to thank the staff for their care of Carl.

Carl will be missed by his wife Joyce (Pinney) Loomis; children,  Larry (Manuela) Loomis and Tracy (Michael) David both of Conneaut; granddaughters, Tricia (Terry) Matia, Tina (Todd) Matrisciano, Tara Loomis and Jessica (Chris) Johnson; great-granddaughters, Emma and Anna Matrisciano and great-grandson, Joseph Matia as well as several nieces and nephews; siblings, Duane (Marlene) Loomis and Claude Loomis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dale and brothers, Walt, Bud and Jim.

A private graveside service was held Wednesday at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the State Line Methodist Church, 7321 Bushnell Rd., Conneaut, Ohio 44030.

The family requests only prayers, thoughts, support and healing during this difficult time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
