Charles N. Forsty

Charles N. Forsty, 79, of Conneaut passed away Thursday June 8, 2017 at Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born July 21, 1937 in Conneaut, the son of Matias “Pete” & Millicent (McCrone) Forsty.

He graduated from Conneaut High School in 1955 and attended both Kent State and Ohio State Universities. He served in the US Air Force as a Boom Operator with the 97 Air Refueling Squadron in the 4061st Air Refueling Wing at Malstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls Montana. He also worked as a surveyor for the City of Conneaut, was employed by Union Carbide and then went on to work as head electrician at the P&C Dock Company, retiring after thirty-one years.

In his younger years, Charles was an adventerous man and loved to travel. He had fond memories of fishing with his father and uncles in the Florida Keys.

He was a sports fanatic, and loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

He will be sadly missed by his survivors, his children, Julie (Forsty) Teed of Conneaut, Charla (Michael Roden) Forsty of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Amanda (Adam) Kopacz of Poland, Ohio, Nicole (Tim) Scrofano of Erie, PA, Richard Teed, Jr. of Melbourne, Australia, and Michael Teed of Conneaut; great-grandchildren, Maxwell & Benjamin Kopacz; sister, Diane McCall of Conneaut; Linda Forsty of Ashtabula; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his companion, Clara "Red” Galliazzo; brother in law, Fred McCall.

Private family calling hours and service will be held at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St. Conneaut.
