David W. Kizina, 86, of Conneaut, passed away Friday morning, March 30, 2018, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home in Kingsville, OH. He was born May 7, 1931 in Ehrenfeld, PA, and was the son of Karl and Johanna (Wedlewsky) Kizina. After high school, David enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as a radar surveillance operator on the Texas Towers, off the mid-Atlantic coast of New England. He served our country for 8 years. After the service, David moved his family from Massachusetts to Ohio and worked as a mechanic for Lillie Ford, Dean Wible and Gill Chevrolet. He was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post #151, VFW in Conneaut, the Moose Lodge, and the Eagles. He could fix just about anything and enjoyed tinkering around. Survivors include his wife, Beverly (Gifford) Kizina, whom he married February 18, 1956 and spent 62 years together; his sons David (Sue) Kizina of Amherst, VA, and William (Anna) Kizina of Conneaut; his daughter Kathryn Kizina of Conneaut; his grandchildren Melissa Greenfield, Natasha (Robert) Towne, Katlyn Kizina, and Madison Kizina; his great-granddaughter Adrianna Kizina; his sister Nancy (Duane) Smeltekop of Oak Park, IL; and his brother Charles (Naomi) Kizina of Girard, PA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Linda Greenfield; and his sisters Martha Donohue, Elizabeth Dimond, and Johanna Danielson. Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Pastor Carson Robson of Church of God officiating. Inurnment will be in East Conneaut Cemetery, following by Military honors conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post #151.
