Earle B. DeWalt

Earle B. DeWalt, 73, of Conneaut, passed away Friday morning, February 8, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born June 23, 1945 in Turtle Creek, PA, and was the son of George and Alice (Jackson) DeWalt.

Earle served in the National Guard for 6 years. He had worked for Exomet, and also Union Carbide/Prax Aire, where he retired after working for over 30 years. He attended Church of God, and for many years, was a member of 1st Assembly of God, and was a Ranger Leader for young boys.  He loved food, eating at his favorite seafood place “Gunnings” in Baltimore, Maryland, and every Sunday either at Texas Roadhouse or Golden Coral. Earle enjoyed restoring cars, it was never work to him, always a hobby, fishing on his boat in Lake Erie, camping, and helping others.

Survivors include his wife Joyce (Petro) DeWalt, whom he married February 11, 1967; his daughter Renae (Frank) Picard of Conneaut, his son Michael (Jodee) DeWalt of Conneaut; his grandchildren Allyson Picard, Andrea Picard, Anne DeWalt, Richard Picard, Aimee DeWalt, and Ryan DeWalt; and his sisters Marge Zappitelli of Conneaut, Noretta (Buddy) Dale of Lake City, PA, and Darryl (Fred) Weaver of Andover.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers Richard DeWalt and George R. DeWalt, Sr.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Church of God, 5327 Center Rd., Conneaut, with Pastor Carson Robson officiating, assisted by Tim Kraus. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Contributions may be made in memory of Earle to the Church of God Missionaries. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and also at the church.
