Edward R. Ed’s unrelenting entrepreneurial spirit persisted by founding Detrick Industrial Piping in 1980. Managing and creating businesses was a way of life for Ed, as he engaged in numerous enterprises and real-estate ventures throughout his years.  He belonged to the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene and was also a long-standing member of the Elks.  As a young man, Ed worked on the lakes in the engine room of shipping freighters.  Ed loved fishing in Lake Erie and won a major local walleye tournament. Traveling to Florida and fishing with his brother, friends and children brought Ed great enjoyment.  His passion for travel culminated by venturing with Lois in his motorhome across the entire United States to explore Alaska. Most of all Ed relished being around his family and especially his grandchildren who always painted a smile on his face.  Edward will forever be remembered by survivors including his six children; Dianne Fultz, Gene Detrick both of Kingsville, Debbie (Lance) Drew of Conneaut, Greg (Patti) Detrick of Ashtabula, Doreen (Paul) Callaghan of Kingsville, and Gary (Sherry) Detrick of North Kingsville; seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.  Additional surviving relatives include; sister-in-law Marilyn (Joseph) Simak of Kelloggsville, sister-in-law Beverly Applebee of Ashtabula, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by; his parents, wife Lois, grandson Jason Detrick and siblings Melvin, Milton, Ralph, June Goff and Shirley Long.  Calling hours will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene 4841 St. Rt 84, Monore Twp., with Rev.
