George R. Emery, Jr. 67, passed away Thursday April 12, 2018 at ACMC with his family by his side. He was born August 10, 1950 in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of George R. & Jean (Throckmorten) Emery. George was proud to have been a US Marine, serving during Vietnam. After his service to our country, he went to work for Elkem Metals until his retirement, he then worked for Kister and Fox Electric. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed everything about the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, bonfires, etc.… There was always a “story” to be told about each. George was an avid Cleveland sports fan and loved his NASCAR. George loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was his grandchildren’s number 1 fan, no matter what sport or organization they were in. He was loved by many, especially the children who would all call him “Uncle George” or “Papa George.” He loved all of his nieces and nephews. He was someone who had an open door to anyone that stopped by, and for that, he will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Judi (Plosila); children, Melanie (Frank) Emery-Olivarez of Ashtabula, Katriina Emery of Ashtabula and George R. (Annie Hamalainen) Emery III of Kingsville; grandchildren, Justyn, Frankie, Hunter, Monica, Isabella, Levi & Big Mike; siblings, Karen (Jim) Brady of Ashtabula, Judee Gozzard of FL, Cindy Emery, Rayne (Mick) Burr & Raymond Emery all of Conneaut, Connie (Tom) Brazil of Dorset.
