Jeffrey M. Bennett, 51, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, September 4, 2019 at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH, after a short battle with cancer. He was born November 3, 1967 and was the son of Floyd and Sandra “Sandy” (Pickens) Bennett.
Jeffrey was a veteran of the United State Marine Corp, and had worked for Cristal in Ashtabula. He was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post #151 and the Union USW Local #7334. He loved Harleys, working, cooking, collecting coins, camping, and being with his “other family” at the legion.
Survivors include his mother Sandy Bennett; his brother Scott (Tammy) Bennett; his niece Ashley (Josh) Conrad; his nephew Cody Bennett; and his great-nieces and great-nephews Daisy, Avery, Devin, and Gavin, all of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his father Floyd Bennett; his paternal grandparents James and Vivian Bennett; his maternal grandparents Raymond and Jeannette Pickens; and his uncle Fred Bennett.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, September 9, 2019 at LuLu Falls Cemetery, Cemetery Rd., Kingsville, OH, with Pastor William Daywalt, of Kingsville Presbyterian Church officiating. A celebration of life will follow at noon at the American Legion Cowle Post #151, 272 Broad St., Conneaut.
Contributions may be made to Operation Toy Soldier. Envelopes will be available at the service and also at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
