John D. Walker, 83, of Clayton, NC, passed away on Sunday at the Barbour Court Nursing Home in Smithfield, North Carolina.   

Mr. Walker was born on January 16, 1934 to the late John L. and Anna Walker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, son David, and sister, Beatrice Richardson. John retired after thirty years of service to the City of Conneaut and then moved to the Raleigh NC area to enjoy retirement. He was the son of former Conneaut Mayor, John L. Walker.

            He is survived by his daughter, LuAnn (Walker) Strickland of Four Oaks, North Carolina; son, Richard A. Walker of Killeen, Texas; grandchildren, Katie Blackman of Benson, North Carolina; Jessica Walker of Austin, Texas, Steven Walker of Fort Worth, Texas; Rebecca (Walker) Baldares of Durham, North Carolina; Benjamin Walker of Wake Forest, North Carolina; Jacob Walker of Raleigh, North Carolina; Sam Walker of Wendell, North Carolina; and four great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Corinth United Methodist Church, Four Oaks.  Rev. Carolyn Sims will officiate. Burial will be held in Glenwood Cemetery in Conneaut, Ohio.
