John L “Jay” Weppler, 51, formally of Conneaut, passed away peacefully at his home in West Chester, OH, on December 15, 2017. He was born September 8, 1966 and was the son of John and Bonnie (Chadwick) Weppler.

Jay was a 1985 graduate of Conneaut High School and graduated college in 1989 from Wittenburg University with a degree in Psychology. He also did graduate work in sports medicine at The Ohio State University.

He taught and coached ice skating for many years, and was also a professional dance teacher.

Jay is survived by his mother Bonnie of Conneaut; a sister Christine Fernandes of Columbus; his nephew Zachary Fernandes; and other relatives.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has been entrusted with local arrangements.
