Mary Ellen (Thiel) Boggs

Mary Ellen Boggs, 98, formally of Conneaut, passed away November 17, 2017, at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community in Conneautville, PA. She was born on January 15, 1919, in Conneaut and was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Thiel) Mullen.

Mary throughout her life was primarily a homemaker but occasionally worked outside of the home to help support her family.   She particularly enjoyed the 14 years that she worked for Geneva River Rubber in Geneva, Ohio, after her children were raised.

Mary and her husband, George, maintained a small farm in Monroe, where they gardened and raised animals for the family.  Mary canned and froze vegetables every year.  She was a skilled cook and baker.  She enjoyed crocheting and other forms of needlework.

Survivors include her daughter Marian Boggs Wiedmann of Corpus Christi, TX; son George R. Boggs, Jr., of San Marcos, CA; sister Dorothy Dicanio of Montvale, NJ; brother James Mullen of Conneaut; grandchildren Kevin Boggs of Seattle, WA; Ian Boggs and Micah Boggs of San Marcos, CA; Isaac Wiedmann of San Francisco, CA; Christie Smith of Monterey, CA; and Kelsie Wiedmann of Corpus Christi, TX; and one great grandson Maxwell A. Boggs of San Marcos, CA.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George R. Boggs Sr. in 1997, Sisters Alice Babcock, Frances Greer, and Geraldine McMillen; and Brothers Ed, Don, William, Al, and Ray Mullen.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 12:30, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St, Conneaut, OH. The Family will receive family and friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Contributions may be made to Rolling Fields Elder Care Fund, State Hwy 198,  Conneautville, PA, 16406 or to the Conneaut Food Pantry, 327 Mill St, Conneaut, Ohio 44030.
