Mary "Ann" (Lopeman) Joslin

Mary “Ann” Joslin, 85, of Ashtabula, passed away Monday evening, April 15, 2019 at the Country Club Retirement Center in Ashtabula. She was born February 26, 1934 in Bellevue, OH, and was the daughter of Herbert and Hester (Rupert) Lopeman.

Mrs. Joslin was a 1952 graduate of Conneaut Senior High School, and worked for the former Astatic Corp., then Carlisle’s for 24 years. She was active at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Conneaut and St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ashtabula. She was also a member of the ABWA, a 4-H Advisor, Rainbow, and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and all Ohio sports teams, especially the Cleveland Indians, and attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events while she was able.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Jerry Joslin, whom she married February 14, 1953; her son Richard (Lydia) Joslin of Rochester, NY; her daughters Terry (Gary) Slaybaugh of Ashtabula, and Stacy (Kevin Stillwell) Joslin of Conneaut; her grandchildren Austin, Tyler, Cody, Jared, and Eli; her sisters Shirley Page, and Martha Norton; her brothers Jerry (Sally) Lopeman, and Edward (Shirley) Lopeman; sister-in-law’s Marty Lopeman, and Grete Lopeman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Robert Lopeman, David Lopeman, Tom (Mickie) Lopeman, and Dick (Agnes) Lopeman; her sister-in-law Joyce Lopeman; and her brother-in-law Paul Mendal Page.

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St, Conneaut, with Chaplain Roger Loomis of Harbor Light Hospice officiating. A celebration of life will be immediately following the service until 2:00 PM at the Marcy Family Center, 180 Harbor St., directly across from the funeral home.
