Regina S (Chizmar) Best

Regina S. Best, 74, of Conneaut, passed peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH. She was born Dec. 14, 1943, at the Ft. Meade Army Base in Laurel, MD, and was the daughter of George and Helen (Krachko) Chizmar.

Regina was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and a faithful member of Corpus Christi Parish. She loved life and being on the water whether it was Lake Erie watching the beautiful sunsets, boating, or just walking the beach and feeding the seagulls.  She also enjoyed shopping QVC, going to casinos, traveling to Florida, birdwatching, dancing, and music, especially jazz.  Above all she loved her family and found great pride in attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

She belonged to the Women of the Moose and the Ashtabula Elks Lodge.

Regina is survived by her loving husband Robert Best whom she married Feb. 16, 1983 ; two sons Bob (Kim) Burns and Bill (Brenda) Burns both of Boardman, OH; two sisters Mary Cherney of Warren, OH and Jane Lerch of Chandler, AZ.; and two beautiful grandchildren Matthew and Jenna.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, at 11:00 AM at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, OH, with Rev. Fr. Philip Miller officiating.  Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut, OH, at a later date.

Friends may call on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St. Conneaut, OH.
