Richard "Dick" V. Pelow

Richard V. “Dick” Pelow, 86, of Conneaut, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born April 7, 1933 in Ashtabula and was the son of Virgil and Ethel (Broughton) Pelow.

Dick was drafted into the United States Army and served our country during the Korean Conflict in Germany. He then worked for the P & C Dock Company until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, many church groups, including the “3M” club doing maintenance around the church. He enjoyed his dogs, golfing, watching car races, and sports. He most enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, they were the light of his life.

Survivors include his wife Dolores (Ceeder) Pelow, whom he married September 3, 1955; his daughter Laurie (Richard) Keyser of Euclid, OH; his son R. Jeffrey (Teresa) Pelow of Conneaut; his sisters Marguerite (Roy) Perry of Mentor on the Lake, OH, and Louise Skarlinski of Ashtabula; his brother George Pelow of Mentor; grandchildren Melanie (Michael) Ballard of Sunbury, OH, Kendall Stanek of Mayfield Heights, Katrina Pelow of Westerville, and Ian Pelow of Westerville; and great-grandchildren James, Emmet, and Cora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Mary Jane Coates.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 876 Grove St., Conneaut, with Rev. Patrick J. Van De Motter officiating.

Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, and also from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church.
