Robert R. Limbaugh

August 9, 1924 ~ February 18, 2019 (age 94)

Robert R. Limbaugh, 94, of Tucson, Arizona and formerly of Conneaut passed away Monday February 18, 2019 in Tucson, Arizona.  He was born August 9, 1924 in Strasburg, Ohio, he was the son of John and Ilda (Sundheimer) Limbaugh.

Robert served in the Army during WWII obtaining and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He worked for the Shea Theater Corporation for 19 years as a theater manager in Dover, OH, New Philadelphia, OH, Geneva, OH, Conneaut, OH and Erie, PA. After 19 years with Shea Theater, he and his wife Mary opened their own business, Limbaugh Maytag Appliances in Conneaut.  Robert retired from the business at 62 and enjoyed living on Lake Road in the summer months mowing the acre in front of the house and during the winter he and Mary enjoyed their house in Lakeland, FL.

He and Mary enjoyed many years in the roles of Clowns, bringing much joy during local Parades and visits to the Children’s hospitals. A man of few words, he particularly enjoyed playing the '' Mute Clown''

He devoted an entire room in his house building trains. These also brought him much happiness. 

Due to ill health, his son, Ron with his wife Margaret moved him to Arizona where he was lovingly cared for during the last 4 years of his life. He loved the warm sunshine, visits from family, long conversations about ''the old days '' and loving care provided by his daughter-in-law ''Meg '' 

Survivors include his son Ron (Margaret) Limbaugh of Tucson, AZ; his daughter, Mary Ellen (Scott) MacElroy of Virginia Beach; sisters, Rita Secrest of Canton, OH, and Ruth Shaweker of Venice, FL; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Betty Parris and 2nd wife Mary Hahn and a brother, John.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post #151
