Ruth H. (Hutton) Long

Ruth H. Long, 97, of Newbury, Ohio and formerly of Conneaut, Ohio passed away Wednesday December 18, 2019 at UH Geauga Medical Center.  She was born September 15, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Denison) Hutton.

She belonged to the former First United Methodist Church of Conneaut, where she was director of the hand bell choir and was on the child care board.  She was Past President of McDowell Club.  She enjoyed reading, woodcarving, music, singing, gardening and traveling the world.

Ruth received her Master’s Degree from Edinboro University. She taught English at Conneaut High School retiring in 1983.

Survivors include her children, J. David (Jaci) Long of Salisbury, VT, Susanne (Norbert) Wegrzyn Ashburn, VA, Elaine (Frank) Pintur of Stow, OH, and Nancy (Dale) Olson of Chagrin Falls, OH; nine grandchildren; brother, Charles Hutton of Nyack, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband John.

At her request no calling hours or services will be held.

Burial will take place at a later date next to her husband in Brush Creek Cemetery in Irwin, PA
