Shirley A. (Upson) Weeks

Shirley A. Weeks, 90, of Ashtabula, passed away early Friday morning, May 31, 2019. She was born February 5, 1929 in Ashtabula, and was the daughter of P. Edward and Bessie (Bowdler) Upson.

Shirley was a graduate of Edgewood Senior High School and worked as a finisher for Zehrco Plastic Co. for 22 years. She dispatched for her husband’s cab company, and waitressed at Garfield Restaurant. She was past officer for the VFW Auxiliary #943 in Ashtabula, and enjoyed showing horses, classic cars, going to auctions, and cooking, baking, and spending time with her family, friends, and special companion.

Survivors include her daughter Darlene (Michael) Crichton of Conneaut; her son George (Bobbi) Weeks of Ashtabula Township; and her special friend Peter Cicon of Ashtabula.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Weeks in 1975; her paternal and maternal grandparents; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law George Sr. and Vera Weeks.

Shirley’s request was to have no calling hours or services. Interment will be held in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.

Contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
