Thomas Beatty, 70, of Geneva, passed away unexpectedly Monday April 23, 2018 at his home. He was born June 25, 1947 in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, to Arvid and Dorothy (Potter) Beatty.
Thomas served in the United States Army, and was stationed in Okinawa during Vietnam. He and his team made several trips to deliver supplies to the troops in need during the war.
He worked for as a Lathe Operator for General Electric retiring in 2010. He also worked for True Temper, and also the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer and deputy.
Thomas enjoyed crafts, woodworking, reading, gardening, working in the yard, fishing, camping, and doing body work on cars.
Survivors include his wife Regina whom he married August 20, 1977, his son, Roger Hammack, Jr. of Parma; his sister, Lorraine Tipton of Indiana; his nephew Bobby Beatty of Conneaut; his cousin James Potter of Kingsville; and his sister-in-law Joyce Beatty of Pierpont.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his gra ndparents; three brothers, Leroy, and twin brothers in infancy Peter and Paul; his nephew Leroy Beatty, Jr.; and his cousin Raymond Greer.
Memorial service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.
Inurnment will take place at the convenience of the family in John Beane Cemetery in Sissonville, West Virginia.
