Twila Holbrook Obituary

Twila Ann Holbrook received her Angel Wings on February 15, 2019, surrounded with love and compassion by family and friends.

Twila was born March 17th 1952 in Conneaut, Ohio.  The eldest child of Clifford and Dorothy (Richards) Holbrook.  Throughout her life, Twila was always ready to expand her knowledge and tackle new challenges.  Being the adventurous and mischievous person that she was, she was always called upon by the Teen Youth Group to taxi them around Conneaut, in her beloved Volkswagen her Father was continually repairing.

Twila graduated from Conneaut High School in 1970 where during her senior year she applied and was accepted for a position with the FBI in Washington, D.C.  Throughout her years of Service, she was the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, from the Director of the FBI.

Twila thrived on furthering her education. On May 19, 1984, while working at the FBI, she graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Twila retired from the FBI as an “IT Specialist” after 38 years of Service leaving behind many loyal friends (family) returning to her home town of Conneaut as she opened another Chapter in her life.

Twila enjoyed traveling with friends and family experiencing many exciting places such as Germany, Hawaii, South Dakota, Niagara Falls, and the Carolina’s.  One of her favorites places was Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Hot Air Balloon Festival.

The one annual event that Twila never missed through the years especially while living away was coming home to Conneaut for the Christmas holiday to be with her family.  She persevered through blizzard’s, airline cancellations etc.

Family was Twila’s top priority.  Her nieces and nephews fondly remember the annual trip (no parents allowed) to our Nation’s Capital to visit their Aunt Twila where they were given educational tours, along with camping, sightseeing and were trained in the art of pinochle.

Many people attest to always being there for others, however Twila made her mission to be the loyal friend, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, that would always be there when needed and the one person that would encourage, praise or give a helping hand when needed.

Left to honor Twila and remember her love; are her Mother, Dorothy Holbrook of Conneaut.  Siblings: Aminda Schatz (David Tomka) of Painesville, OH; Cynthia (David) Greer of Conneaut; Douglas (Brenda) Holbrook of Annandale, VA. Nieces/Nephews:  Heather Kern (Gary Darnell); Ronald (Ann) Watson; Holly (Dale) Drew; Jason (Samantha) Schatz; Charlotte, Emma, Kate, and Sophia Holbrook.  Grandnieces/Grandnephews:  Nicholas, Jayden, and Madison Drew; Keifer and Gunnar Schatz.

Twila was preceded in her heavenly journey by her father Clifford Holbrook, her beloved West Highland Terrier, Murphy, and her Guardian Angel Grandmother, Frieda (Sieler) Richards.
