Alfred R. “Richard” Boeson, (Lewicki) 87, of Conneaut, passed away Tuesday evening, November 17, 2020 at his home. He was born July 21, 1933 in Erie, PA, the son of Alfred and Helen (Deminski) Boeson.
Richard graduated from Academy High School in Erie in 1951. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge, he graduated from Edinboro University with a BS degree and began his teaching career. He completed graduate work in Theater Arts at Penn State University. He taught high school English for Berkshire High School in Burton and directed the theater productions. He taught in several other schools before earning his Master’s Degree in elementary education in 1971. He taught first grade at Chestnut Elementary from 1994 to his retirement in 2001.
During his retirement he enjoyed many trips with friends. He visited Russia and most of Europe and part of South America. Richard was with the Cleveland Playhouse and directed productions at various schools. He directed productions at Berkshire HS in Burton and for Rotary- McDowel productions in Conneaut in the 1970’s. He also directed pays at the Conneaut Community Center.
Richard like to read, play pinochle, and loved to read to children. His classroom was always full of creative activities.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn (Robinson) Boeson whom he married August 16, 1969; his son Jason Boeson of Birmingham, MI; his grandchildren Griffin, Luke, and Owen; his half-sister Judy Sams of Florida; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Joan Bradbury.
