Audrey A. Punkar, 90, of Conneaut passed away Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Geneva Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. Born June 5, 1931 in Conneaut. She was the daughter of William & Charlotte (Gilbraith) Ahlberg.
She received her teaching degree from the University of New Mexico.
Audrey worked for thirty years at the Conneaut Area City Schools as a teacher. Audrey was fondly remembered by former students when she was out in the community.
She was a life-long member First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Audrey enjoyed being with her family, traveling with her late husband all over the US and Europe. Attending grandkids activities over the years, especially their sporting events. She was named CHS fan of the year in 2000. She was Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include her children, Nancy (Tom) Baker of Mentor, David (Lori) of Conneaut and Greg (Amy) of San Francisco; grandchildren, Hallie (Michael) Matthew, Rachel, Kevin, Hanna, Nico & Jonah; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Amiah, Joshua, Leiv & Gianna.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Duane.
Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday October 30, 2021 at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
