Barbara J. Poff, 96 of Conneaut, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. She was born April 29, 1923 in Cleveland, OH, and was the daughter of John and Edith (Harvey) Erb.
Barbara attended the Andrews School for Girls in Willoughby. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she loved working in the kitchen, and helping with many luncheons and activities. She was known as the “Pie Cutter.” She enjoyed quilting, baking, and was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary #151.
Barbara will always be remembered for her beautiful smile.
She is survived by her daughters Helen (Michael) Bosick of Alliance, Barbara Talan of Conneaut; and her sons J. Michael (Cheryl) Poff, and William (Lisa) Poff, both of Conneaut; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her dear friend Carol Ann (Jussila) Herb of Twinsburg, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James T. Poff; grandson Matthew Bunnell; great-grandson James Daniel Poff; and brothers Lee and John Erb.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Barbara’s family would like to thank the staff at The Villa at the Lake, Hospice of the Western Reserve, and also the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
