Berniece Jean (Kemp) Boggs, 94 passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Optimized Senior Living Lebanon, OH. Born on September 21, 1931, to Raymond and Vivian (Bush) Kemp in Ashtabula, OH. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Warren S. Boggs, brother, Clifford Kemp and sisters, Mildred Rintamaa and Geraldine Reynolds.
She is survived by her sons, Todd (Debbie) Boggs of Aiken, SC, Timothy (Tammy) Boggs of Lebanon, OH, her daughter, Merrilee Foster of Chalfont, PA, grandchildren, Kyle Boggs, Lauren Foster, John Foster, Kaitlyn Boggs and Grant Boggs, and great-grandchildren, Chiara Manno and Abigail Foster.
Berniece and Warren spent most of their days side by side, celebrating 70 wonderful years of marriage. Berniece loved her family and her life in Ashtabula where she raised her family, worked and made many cherished friends. Berniece was a member of the East Side Presbyterian Church, a founding member of the Edgewood Alumni Association which awards college scholarships to graduating students of Edgewood Senior High School, a member of the Sam Wharram Nature Club, and the Rose Society of N.E. Ohio. Berniece loved to garden, grow prize-winning roses, cook, and bake (she was especially known for her pies) and was a true lover of being in nature. She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed nature hikes and capturing nature’s beauty both through the lens of a camera and through the art of woodcarving.
A celebration of life service will be held at East Side Presbyterian Church, 3440 Edgewood Dr., Ashtabula, OH, December 8th at 10:00 a.m. with inurnment at Saybrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edgewood Alumni Association for a college scholarship in memory of Berniece.
