On Tuesday March 9, 2021, Betty Sue (Green) Blood left this world to be with her Lord. Born September 14, 1937 in Hamilton, Alabama, she was the youngest child of Curtis and Elvie (Minor) Green. Betty was 83 years old when she passed.
Betty had a lifelong love for antiques and collectibles; garage sales and antique markets were her passion. She had an uncanny ability to spot “rough jewels” -- antique furniture, china, clothing, and dolls-- which she took home and transformed into beautiful, functional works of art.
Betty was a kind, smart woman with a huge heart and a quick wit. She taught her loved ones the importance of accepting others and rejecting prejudice. Her stories about growing up in Alabama were often hilarious, but always showed insight and compassion. A talented gardener with an unerring green thumb, her yard on Parrish Road was in bloom from Spring until the first snow. She also loved and appreciated animals, especially cats and songbirds.
On June 10th, 1972 Betty married the love of her life, William Blood. Together Bill and Betty raised two daughters, Robin and Rhonda, in Conneaut.
Betty was an incredible mother, wife, and grandmother who will be missed dearly. She is survived by her husband William Blood, daughters Rhonda Southworth and Robin Murray, grandchildren Zoe Southworth and Tristan Krug, and great-grandson Miko Jovanovich.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday July 7, 2021 at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut where the family will receive friends from 10:00AM until time of service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to the Kelloggsville United Methodist Church in Kingsville, OH, or your local Humane Society or ASPCA.
