Betty A. Kantola, 90, of Conneaut passed away Sunday August 8, 2021, at The Villa at the Lake. She was born November 27, 1930, in Conneaut, the daughter of Alvin & Edith (Dixon) Harke.
Betty graduated from Rowe High School. She belonged to the East Conneaut United Methodist Church, Chapter 22 of the Order of the Eastern Star joining in 1974 and served Grand Chapter as Grand Ruth in 1993. She enjoyed crafts, traveling, watching the Cleveland Indians, and being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Roger) Redmond of Conneaut, and Rebecca (Robert) Hills of Conneaut; her son James (Barbara) Kantola Jr., of Elyria; grandchildren Kaylee (Mike) Abramovich of Parma Heights, Doug (Kylie) Hills of Conneaut, Erin (Michael) Schmieder of Avon, Heather Kantola of Lakewood, Jennifer (Brian) Muse of Williamsburg, VA, Megan (Chris) Anthony of Franklin, TN, and AJ Redmond of Jefferson; great-grandchildren Leo Abramovich and Beau due in September, Trenton and Natalee Hills, Connor and Jackson Muse, and Gabrielle, Leah, Carter, and Blake Anthony; and her sister Joyce Cropek of Conneaut.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James Kantola, Sr.; and her brother Charles Harke.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., where the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in East Conneaut Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the Conneaut Firefighters Union Local #651, or Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
