Bonnie Humphreys Obituary

Bonnie Jean (Judy) Humphreys, 78, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away on July 3, 2026. She was born on October 2, 1947, in Red Creek, West Virginia, to Garmon Judy and Helen Wratchford Judy.

Bonnie was a devoted homemaker and stay-at-home mom who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She had a special hand in raising her grandchildren, who spent time with her every single day. She loved sitting at the docks watching the lake, sitting on her porch, taking beach vacations, and returning home to West Virginia to visit the place where she was born.

Bonnie truly had a green thumb. She loved tending her garden, growing her own tomatoes and green beans, and canning what she grew. Thanks to her, the family enjoyed fresh vegetables from her garden all summer long. In the kitchen, she was also known for her cooking, canning, baking, and cake decorating. Family and friends looked forward to her homemade pizza and burgers, and no Thanksgiving was complete without her turkey cookies.

Bonnie's faith was the center of her life. She was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Conneaut First Assembly of God, where she enjoyed gospel music and, in her younger years, taught Sunday school and led Missionettes. She taught the love of Jesus to anyone she could, and her greatest hope was to one day see all of her family gathered in heaven with her.

Bonnie was married to the love of her life, Robert Humphreys, for 52 years. She was so proud of that love, and she cherished her family more than anything else in this world — second only to her Lord and Savior.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Garmon and Helen Wratchford Judy; her sister, Peggy Judy Lawson; her brother, Jack Judy; and her grandson, Derek John Rivers.

Bonnie had a deep love for children and a heart for caring for others. As a young woman, she helped care for her niece and nephew, and throughout her adult life, the neighborhood kids held a special place in her heart. Her door was always open to them. She extended that same care to her elderly neighbors, regularly bringing them food and checking in on them. She was a true steward of kindness, caring for anyone who needed it.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Humphreys; her children, John (Kathy) Rivers, Joe (Amy) Rivers, and Tanya (Troy) Belt; her grandchildren, Bob (Jackie) Rivers, Victoria Rivers, Benjamin Rivers, and Olivia Rivers; her great-grandchildren, Robert, Paiton, Erik, Ryleigh, and Wade; Ron Linke, who held a son's place in her heart; and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones not related by blood.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
