Brian Kevin Slocum, 38, passed away at home January 10, 2022.
He struggled with chronic illness for several years. Kevin was a kind and insightful person, with a hilarious sense of humor. He loved to read, and he wrote remarkably well. In his healthier years he enjoyed camping, sailing, skiing, rock climbing, football, and wrestling.
Kevin was a terrific musician. He played guitar in several local bands and enjoyed playing the piano.
He was known for his generosity. Once he saw a man with no shoes and immediately handed his over.
Kevin made his home with his beloved brother Daniel Slocum and his mother Carol Kercher; also surviving is his stepsister, Gretchen Kercher, niece Olivia Kercher, many aunts and uncles and cousins, grandmother Jeannette Slocum Elsworth, oldest friend Terry Hicks and his boxer Fi.
He is preceded in death by his father Brian Slocum, grandparents Carl and Toine Grey and by several close friends.
No services or calling hours will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made in Kevin’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The arrangements have been entrusted to the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut
