Caroline Laura Stump, aged 93, of Conneaut, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at her daughter's home, surrounded by her family. She was born February 3, 1932 in Salem, OH, the daughter of W. Phillip Sanford and Ethel (Hall) Wible. After Caroline's mother passed away when she was just nine, she and her sister Pat were adopted by the Long family.
Caroline worked as a waitress at the Sugar Bowl, Olympic Village, and State Street Diner. Known for her strong work ethic and friendly nature, she truly enjoyed connecting with her customers. She was actively involved in her family's activities and found joy in garage sales, collecting knickknacks, dancing, listening to music, doing word scrambles, and cleaning.
Survivors include her children Glen, Jr., Cheri, Loretta, John, Donny, and Lonnie, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Patricia Braden and Sandra Best; and other half-siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; adoptive parents Mr. and Mrs. Long; longtime companion of over 20 years Robert Mickle, and siblings Jackie Day, Donna Fuller, Phil Sanford, Sally Andrews, and Harland Sanford.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH.
