Cecil E. “Ed” Riggs, 73, of Conneaut, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020, doing what he loved, helping others. He was born February 26, 1947 in West Virginia, the son of Mom and Dad Lovejoy.
Ed most recently worked for Advance Auto Parts and was a member of the Conneaut Church of God, where he was an usher. He loved helping anyone and everyone in any way he could. He always said after doing something for someone, such as reparing a car or rescuing someone from the side of the road, to give the glory to God.
Survivors include his wife Terri (Hall) Riggs of 32 years on September 7th, his children Stephanie Riggs of Conneaut, grandchildren Alex, Jacob and Zachary Pruzon, Steve (Bobbie) Riggs of Conneaut, grandchildren Trenton and Evan Riggs, Danny Riggs (Tiffany Scott) of Fairport Harbor, grandchild, Gavin Riggs, Cindy Dickson of Ashtabula, grandchildren Matthew (Carolyn) and Bailey (Bee) Dickson, Mary (Chuck) Rozalski of Conneaut, grandchildren Kristi and Tyler Maldonado, great grandchildren Drake, Josh and Lucy, David (DJ) Hatfield of Conneaut, grandchildren Anthony and Andrew Hatfield, Steven Hatfield of Panama City, FL, grandchildren Mercedez and Hailey Hatfield, David (Nilda) Herndon of El Central, CA, Kim Fletcher of Albany, OR, and grandchildren Britteny, Terra, and Josh Nastuik, Sernia, Sofia and Megan Herndon; many other great-grandchildren; his brother Leonard (Maxine) Riggs and sister Ruth Ann Riggs; plus many other relatives and a HUGE loving church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Curt, Joe, and Ray.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Church of God, 5327 Center Rd. (Rt. 7) Conneaut, with Pastor Carson Robson officiating. Burial will follow in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Township, OH.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the Church of God, and 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday.
With the current COVID-19 Pandemic, masks are required, and social distancing will be observed.
