Charles R. Hamilton, 78, of Citra, FL and formerly of Jefferson passed away at his home September 16, 2021. He was born January 4, 1943 in Fostoria, Ohio the son of John & Irene (Luce) Hamilton.
Charles graduated in 1965 from Defiance College, after graduation he went to work alongside of his parents at Hamilton's Furniture and Appliances. In 1986 when they retired, he ran the store for the next twenty-three years until he retired in 2009.
Charles was foremost, a Godly man who fiercely loved his family. Anyone that crossed his path felt love and generosity from his kind and selfless heart. His contagious laughter and genuine personality attracted people throughout all walks of life. He truly was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He served on the fair board for the Ashtabula County fair and was a 4-H advisor for many years. He coached his son Todd at Jefferson Area High School in Cross Country for two seasons, 1984 and 1985. He attended Eagleville Bible Church for many years until moving to Florida.
He was the owner and operator of Clear Creek Farms. Where he enjoyed farming and breeding cattle. He also enjoyed attending cattle shows with his children and grandchildren, all aspects of the horse world, including racing, team penning, ranch sorting, and driving his Percherons with his sidekick Dylan Kato, fishing, hunting, and vacationing with family.
Survivors include his wife Cyndi (Sonoski) Hamilton whom he married May 13, 1994, children, Todd (Mina) Hamilton, Joann Hamilton, Jacque Kato, Rachel Grant,
Benjamin (Katie) Jackson & Helene (Benjamin) Moore; beloved grandson Dylan Kato, whom Charles was also a father figure to, grandchildren, Katie Hamilton, Mikayla Hamilton MD, Luke Hamilton, Karlie Grant, Benjamin Jackson, Landon Jackson, Jace Moore, and Raegan Moore; brother, David (Paige) Hamilton and sister Joyce (Rick) Park and sister-in-law, Vada Dular.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Hamilton and son, Jeffrey Jackson.
A Memorial and Graveside service in Lenox Cemetery will be held next spring. Date and time will be announced by the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Contributions may be made to Charles Hamilton Memorial Fund, for the purpose of establishing an award to be given to an individual who displays the same cowboy code that Charles followed. The award will be given at the Southern Ranch Sorting Finals in Florida.
