Clayton C. "Wick" Van Gorder

Clayton C. “Wick” Van Gorder, 79, of Conneaut, passed away Saturday May 20, 2023 at UH Conneaut.

Born January 2, 1944 in Conneaut, Ohio, son of Clarence and Agnes (Kapen) Van Gorder.

Clayton retired from the P & C Dock Company in Conneaut on January 2, 2004.

He loved to hunt and fish, he also enjoyed gardening and doing home maintenance.

Clayton belonged to the Lake Erie Boat Club and NARVE in Conneaut

Survivors include his much-loved companion of 52 years Janet; cousin, Jan Kapen, his cat Spooky and many friends and retired co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie Ann, and a brother Robert and his uncle Chester Kapen.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday May 24, 2023 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Oh 44030.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 Am Thursday May 25, 2023 at the funeral home.  

Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
