Former Conneaut resident Daniel Curtis, 56 of Maryville, TN, passed away May 28, 2024 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born April 27, 1968 in Erie, PA, the son of Gerald and Pearl Ann (Pease) Curtis.
Daniel graduated from Conneaut High School/Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School and entered the United States Army. After his discharge, he sailed on the Great Lakes for 15 years and then worked for Newell Industries.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and enjoyed target shooting, reading and watching Science Fiction books and movies, mowing the grass, raising tropical fish, motorcycles, and his beloved cat.
He is survived by his mother Pearl Ann Curtis of Conneaut; his daughter Danielle Nicole Blanchard of Branson, MO; sister Julie Curtis Sanford of Conneaut; three grandchildren; and his best friend Jennifer Sumpter of Maryville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his father Gerald, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Celebration of life will be 2:30 PM, Saturday June 15, 2024 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 876 Grove St., Conneaut with military honors conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post 151.
Contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the service and at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has been entrusted with local arrangements.
