David Stolson Obituary

David Stolson, 86, of Conneaut, Ohio and Venice, Florida, passed away on July 29, 2022 at Liana of Venice in Venice, Florida.

David was born in Conneaut, Ohio on October 26, 1935. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Stolson, his parents, Sven and Magdalena Stolson, his sister, Molly Antin, his brother, Jack Stolson, and his step-son, James Warren. He is survived by his son, Scott (Mindy) Stolson, of California, his daughter-in-law, Marilyn Warren, of Michigan, four grandchildren, a number of  great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

As a young man, David served in the Army. He also worked on the Philip R. Clarke, a  Great Lakes bulk freighter. Later, David worked at SCM Chemicals in Ashtabula until his retirement in 1998. Following the death of his wife Barbara in 1999, David began to spend part of the year in Venice, Florida to be closer to his brother Jack and his family. Eventually, David became a full-time resident of Venice.

David was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed attending the local races at Raceway 7 in Conneaut, where at one time he owned a car that raced there. He enjoyed following Ohio State football every fall. David always lived near a body of water. He loved driving to Township Park in Conneaut to look at the lake and the lighthouse. In Venice he would drive to the North or South Jetty just to take in the beautiful scenery.

A service will be held at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery in Conneaut, Ohio.

The arrangements have been entrusted to the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
