Dennis Paul "Denny" McClure

Dennis P. “Denny” McClure, 61 of Conneaut, passed away Tuesday July 20, 2021, at UH Conneaut Medical Center.  He was born January 20, 1960, in Ashtabula, the son of James and Mary Ella (Zahl) McClure.

Denny was a graduate of St. John High School. After graduation, he entered the United States Army and was a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne before being honorably discharged. He was a plumber by trade working for contractors in NE Ohio and PA and a certified plumber inspector for the Conneaut Board of Health.

Denny was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post #151 in Conneaut.

He enjoyed fishing, fly-fishing, camping, hunting, 4-wheeling, and loved to parachute. He loved his cabin in the mountains and the family gatherings that took place there. He was always there when somebody needed help.  He especially loved spending time with his children & grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Debbie (Morrell) McClure; sons Shawn (Kristen) McClure, Andy (Aileen Debevec) McClure and Tom (Jamie Lynn) McClure; his stepson Martin (Akhilesh Raina) Woodard; and seven grandchildren; brothers, Chris (Michelle), Greg (Wendy), Gary (Kate), Mark (Anna), Kevin (Terry) and TJ (Sandy McClure;  and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM Saturday July 24, 2021, at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 734 Mill St., Conneaut, with Father Philip Miller officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula, OH.

Visitation will be held Saturday prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St. Conneaut.  The family would prefer everyone to wear masks to visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the APL, 5970 Green Rd. Ashtabula, OH 44004, or the Feed Our Vets, 433 Center St, Ashtabula, OH 44004. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
