Diane F. McCall, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center with her family by her side.
Diane was born in Conneaut on March 29, 1941 to Matthew and Millicent Forsty. She was a lifelong resident of Conneaut. In 1959 she graduated from Conneaut High School being a member of the National Honor Society and the homecoming queen.
After graduation, Diane attended Baldwin Wallace College and Kent State University. While in college, she worked as a legal secretary and later worked for the City of Conneaut as the mayor’s secretary and Board of Health secretary. She went to the accounting department of Trans Plastic and then to the Pittsburgh and Conneaut Dock Company.
When her children were young, she was a den mother and active in the school PTA. Her children were her most prized possessions, she was also member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Diane is survived by her two sons, F. Scott McCall of Conneaut, and Charles (Wynona) McCall of Daphne, Alabama, a daughter Millicent “Millie” (Bubba) Polchosky of Conneaut; grandchildren Nikki McCall and Charles Hunter McCall of Daphne, Alabama, Freddy McCall, and Courtney Polchosky both of Conneaut.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frederick "Fred" McCall, Jr. in 2012; and her brother Charles Forsty.
At Diane’s request, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held for her family and burial will take place at the convenience of her children at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Kingsville, OH.
