Donna J. (Hewitt) Betteys

Donna J. Betteys, 94, of North Kingsville, passed peacefully at Ashtabula County Medical Center on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born in Ashtabula on December 25, 1927 to Paul and Belva (Hoplight) Hewitt.

Donna owned and operated, Donna Jeans Beauty Salon for over 50 years and retired in 1994.

She was a member of the Amboy United Methodist Church and a member of the Road Runner Club with Ringsway travel.  In her pass time she enjoyed baking, playing card games and gardening. Her friends and family were very important to her, especially her son and grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her son Robert J. (Kelly) Katz of North Kingsville; grandsons Stephan (Meredith) Katz of Parma Heights, OH, and Andrew Katz of Parma Heights, OH; two great-grandchildren Oliver and Juliette Katz; brothers Gary (Alice) Hewitt of Plymouth Twp. OH, and Bill (Nancy) Hewitt of North Kingsville; sister-in-law Mickey Hewitt of TX; and Goddaughter Michele Fetters of Plymouth Twp. OH.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Fred Perusek, second husband Leo Katz, third husband Floyd Betteys; fourth husband Howard Johnson; and brothers Alan and Paul Hewitt.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 PM, Thursday January 6th, 2022 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH. Due to the rise in Covid19 cases, masks are required.

 Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at Noon on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions in Donna’s memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
