Dorothy G. "Dodie" (Lowery) Mitchell

Dorothy G. “Dodie” Mitchell, 76, of Conneaut, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at UH Conneaut Medical Center. She was born August 22,1948 in Wellington, OH, the daughter of Chester and Helen (Balcomb) Lowery.

Dodie worked as a school bus driver for Ledgemont and Ashtabula Area Schools and worked for AVI Vending Company.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, going to garage sales, flowers, and loved horses, especially riding and showing them.

Survivors include her husband Rand R. Mitchell; her daughters Shelly Naylor of Conneaut, Tracy (Kevin) Bevins of Jefferson; son Joseph (Tisa) Naylor of Jefferson; step-daughter Nicole Ries of Vandergrift, PA;  step-son Joshua (DJ) Mitchell of Vandergrift, PA; sisters Jackie McBride of Ashtabula, Ruthie (Frank) Connell of Evans City, PA, and Darlene (Ronald) Hicks of Conneaut; brothers Robert (Charlotte) Lowery of Crossingville, PA, and Dale (Linda) Langdon of Pierpont; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Carol Bowers, Audrey Frost, Betty Phillips, Barb Fugate, Elaine Barnum; and brother John Lowery.

At Dodie’s request there will be no services observed. The Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
