Duane R. Seegert, 67, of Conneaut, passed away Monday evening, September 14, 2020 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born July 31, 1953 in Conneaut and was the son of Burton Seegert and Rosemary (Miller) Woodworth.
Duane enlisted during his senior year in high school in 1971 in the United State Navy, serving during Vietnam. Before moving to Conneaut, Duane lived in Cortland, OH. He was an over the road truck driver, and also an order manager for a trucking company.
He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, tinkering around the house, his dog “Pudgy,” and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Duane enjoyed life and was very proud of his political view.
Survivors include his daughters Michelle (Ryan) Petro of N. Kingsville, and Amanda (Bill Marshall) of Mentor; grandchildren Nicholas, Devin, Kadin, Kierstin, Adriana, and Vincent; sisters Cheryl Potter of Conneaut, and Judy Sillanpaa of Ashtabula; and brothers Tom (Doreen Wilcox) Seegert of Conneaut, and Bruce (Sharon) Seegert of New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Cheryl Seegert; and his sister Barbara Schlaefer.
A memorial bike run will be held in Duane’s memory and will be announced on Facebook and the Marcy Funeral Home website, date to be determined.
