Edward Javorich, 90, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the home of his daughter, Wednesday, October 9, 2024. He was born March 25, 1934 in Cleveland, the son of Leo and Mary (Antos) Javorich.
Ed came to Conneaut at the age of 15 and served in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a Hewlett Operator for P & C Dock Company. He also worked for Norton and drove bus.
He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Masonic Relief Lodge #284 in Pierpont, the Conneaut American Legion Cowle Post 151, past member of the Conneaut Eagles, and a member of the Ohio Horseman’s Club. He loved to play Bocce at Township Park with the guys on Thursdays and in past years, played on numerous softball leagues at Lakeview Park. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, horses, horse camping, making his amazing homemade wine, and being with his family.
Survivors include his daughters Martha (Terry) Benson of Monroe Township, and Marilyn (Neil) Belcher of Falmouth, KY; his son Robert (Kathy) Javorich of Saluda, VA; grandchildren Timothy (Andrea) Benson of Riverside, OH, Gregory (Jillian) Benson of Copley, OH, Mary Benson, of Conneaut, Holly (Paul) Relink of Ripley, NY, Andrea (Nathan) Huey of Kingsville, Erica (Tyler) Corbett of Mesa, AZ, Bobby Belcher of Conneaut, Sarah (Steven) Dill of Newport News, VA, Kyle Javorich of Richmond, VA, Antonio Gonzalez of Conneaut, Jose Gonzalez of Ashtabula, and Ariana Gonzalez of Jefferson; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and sister-in-law Judith (Vincent) Parlongo of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of his 53 years Norma (Sack) Javorich; daughter Nancy Gonzalez; brothers William and Frank Javorich; and sisters Mary Golic and Rose Bryant.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut with Rev. Tim Kraus officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the funeral home.
