Edward E. Trutwin

Edward E. Trutwin, 65, of Conneaut, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. He was born November 6, 1953 in Conneaut, and was the son of Emil Trutwin and Donna (Ely) Ambrose.

Edward was a graduate of Conneaut High School and entered the United States Army. He was a Multichannel Communications Equipment Operator and served in Germany for two years. He was honorably discharged and was a self-employed dry-waller.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and any type of racing. Edward was a member of the Conneaut Eagles #408.

Survivors include his wife Cathy (Orlando) Trutwin; his step-daughter Monica Taggart of Atlanta, GA; his step-son Mark (Wendy) Taggart of Concord, OH; three step-grandchildren Chase, Marky, and Melania; his step-mother Boneita Paradis; sisters Roseanne (Jack) Angerer, Bonnie (Bill) Simmons, Debbie (Donny) Gatlyn, Ruthella (Mark) Reagan, Trudy (Gary) Mulligan, and Kim (Dave) Cole; brothers Emil (Vanessa) Trutwin, Henry Trutwin, and Aaron Trutwin; his aunt Marie Ely;  uncle Frank (Joanne) Trutwin; and several nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents Derwin and Edna Ely; paternal grandparents Mike and Christina Trutwin; uncle Bill Ely; and niece Terry Ahles

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St. Conneaut. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Sunday. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post #151.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Edward’s memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
